Mandate of the Establishment Branch

BPR&D was set up by the Government of India in the year 1970.  Since then, the outlying units i.e. Central Academy for Police Training (CAPT), Bhopal and five Central Detective Training Institutes (CDTIs) at Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ghaziabad and Jaipur have been established.  Further, three CDTIs are being created at Bengaluru, Agartala and Srinagar.

 The Establishment Division is a support system of the Bureau performing following crucial functions:-

• Recruitment of staff in BPR&D Headquarters and outlying units.
• Creation of posts and framing of Recruitment Rules.
• Re-organization, Manpower Planning and Cadre management of the Bureau.
• All Establishment matters of the Staff and the Trainees of BPR&D HQ and its outlying Units.
